Earlysville, Va. - Freshman Alex Mason (Scottsdale, AZ/Brophy Prep) was the top collegiate finisher and finished second overall as he paced the Hoya men's cross country runners at the Cavalier Open hosted by the University of Virginia. Mason crossed the finish line of the 8K race in 25:25.

Georgetown posted three finishers in the top ten and a fourth among the top 20. Sophomore Shane Young (Reston, VA/Herndon) finished fourth overall (25:31) and red-shirt freshman Brandon Bonsey (Falmouth, ME/Falmouth) finished seventh overall (25:48) while sophomore Scott Bastek (Saddle River, NJ/Delbarton) ran to a 19th place finish (26:50).
