Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University track & field program continued their strong indoor season with four first-place and nine top-four finishes at the Maryland Invitational on Saturday, held at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Md.

Junior Ashley Mondie (Washington, D.C./Milton Hershey) posted two top-four finishes, winning the triple jump with a distance of 38'11 1/2" (11.87m) and placing fourth in the long jump at 18'1/4" (5.49m), both BIG EAST qualifying times.

The women's team had two other first place performances as junior Kandance Ferguson (East Elmhurst, N.Y./Milton Hershey) qualified for the BIG EAST and ECAC Championships with her 2:16.29 time in the 800m and the "A" 4x400m relay team crossed first at 3:47.73, the Hoyas fastest time of the season. In addition, sophomore Ashley Hubbard (Marshfield, Mass./Marshfield) was the second collegiate finisher in the 400m with a conference and ECAC qualifying time of 57.21.

The best performance on the men's side was a first-place finish by freshman Khyle Osborne (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) in the shot put, as he threw for a BIG EAST qualifying distance of 44'8 1/2" (15.15m).

In other action, the men's distance medley relay team finished second with a time of 10:18.95, freshman Jonathan Okon (Irving, Texas/Milton Hershey) qualified for the conference championship with a third place finish in the triple jump (44'9"/13.64m) and fellow newcomer Kenny Mitchell (Atlanta, Ga./Westlake) was fourth in the 60m dash at 6.98.

Next weekend, the Georgetown program will be split between the Terrier Classic in Boston, Mass. and the National Open in State College, Pa.
