Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown men's indoor distance medley relay team finished fourth at the 2006 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship on Friday night at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
The quartet of seniors Chris Bonner (Weston, Mass./Xaverian Brothers), Tommy Manning (Lake Oswego, Ore./Jesuit) and Rod Koborsi (Houston, Texas/Jersey Village) and sophomore Matt Debole (Winston-Salem, N.C./Mount Tabor) earned All-American honors with a time of 9:39.39, only five-hundredth of a second behind conference rival Villanova. Arkansas won the event with a time of 9:37.02.
In other action for the Hoyas on day one of the national indoor championships, Manning and sophomore Maggie Infeld (University Heights, Ohio/Beaumont) each failed to qualify for the finals in their respective events. Manning was 15th in the men's 800m prelims at 1:57.70, while Infeld finished 13th in the women's mile qualifier with a time of 4:46.33.
In the women's distance medley relay, Georgetown was 13th, crossing in 11:50.62.
On Saturday, Debole completed his first NCAA individual event, placing 13th in the 3000m run at 8:20.68.
