Washington, D.C. - Junior Elizabeth Maloy (Loudonville, N.Y./The Academy of Holy Names) earned her first All-American honor at the 2006 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday. Maloy closed out the outdoor season for the Hoyas with a seventh place finish in the women's 1500m, posting a time of 4:18.93.
Freshman Buky Bamigboye (Brentwood, Tenn./University School) made an impressive her NCAA Championship debut, placing 15th in the Heptathlon. With 5245 points, she was the highest freshman finisher.
Bamigboye moved up five spots on Saturday, behind a fourth place finish in the 800m, the day's final event, as she ran a new personal best of 2:15.53. In earlier action, Bamigboye was 21st in the long jump with a distance of 18'2/5" (5.55m) and 20th in the javelin, tossing a new personal record of 111'10" (34.08m).
Select Georgetown track & field student-athletes will compete in the USA Junior and Senior Outdoor Track & Field Championships on June 21-25 in Indianapolis, Ind.
