Hoya Headliner Introduces Incoming Freshman Chris Bisanzo

Washington, D.C. - Hoya Headliner will be featuring newcomers from the Georgetown football team throughout the month as the Hoyas get ready for the first practices of the season during the first week in August. During this time, fans will get their first chance to meet members of the Class of 2012.

Freshman offensive lineman Chris Bisanzo comes to the Hilltop from Riverside, Connecticut. Bisanzo was a First-Team All-State selection as a senior in Connecticut and helped lead his Greenwich High School team to state titles in 2006 and 2007. Here's your first look at the freshman...

Hoya Headliner: What coach recruited you and how was the recruiting process for you? Bisanzo: Coach (Jim) Miceli recruited me. The recruiting process was long and at times a struggle, but overall it was a very good experience.

Hoya Headliner: How long have you been on campus for? Bisanzo: I've been on campus since July 5.

Hoya Headliner: Have you enjoyed being on campus so far? Bisanzo: I love the campus and the atmosphere at Georgetown.

Hoya Headliner: What ultimately was the final decision in your selecting Georgetown? Bisanzo: It's an up-and-coming football program as well as a university with endless tradition that I wanted to be a part of.

Hoya Headliner: How has the transition from high school to college been for you so far? Bisanzo: The biggest transition has from high school to college has been the amount of reading I have had to do so far.

Hoya Headliner: How have preseason workouts been going? Bisanzo: Workouts are obviously difficult. Coach Maurelli and his staff really have the team working hard. It is a great experience so far and the team seems to be meshing and bonding

Hoya Headliner: Has anything surprised you as far as the amount of conditioning and weight room work you are doing? Bisanzo: I never expected to come in here and have the conditioning and lifting be a cake walk, so this is fulfilling my expectations.

Hoya Headliner: What were your first impressions when you faced the challenge of the famed Exorcist Steps? Bisanzo: I was scared to death.

Hoya Headliner: Are there any players you've become friends with right away? Bisanzo: (Junior co-captain) Dan Matheny has helped me get accustomed to the school and the football program and has really turned into a friend/mentor for me.

Hoya Headliner: Have you been able to explore M Street and Washington, D.C. at all? Bisanzo: I have been down to M Street and Wisconsin mainly to get food. Between school, workouts, and being exhausted, I either can't walk down or do not want to walk down to the main-stays.

Hoya Headliner: Do you have any superstitions before games? Bisanzo: Before every game I take a walk before team meetings to relax myself so that I'm not too tense for the game I'm about to play. .

Hoya Headliner: What song gets you pumped up before games? Bisanzo: "Headstrong" by Trapt

Hoya Headliner: Who is your favorite football player? Bisanzo: Steve Young

Hoya Headliner: Who are your favorite teams, first in football and then other sports? Bisanzo: The New York Giants are my favorite team - closest team to my home in Connecticut. I love the Yankees too.

Hoya Headliner: What would you do if you won a million dollars? Bisanzo: Pay for college. Invest the rest.

Hoya Headliner: If you could get front row tickets to any concert, now or in the past, which would it be? Bisanzo: Bruce Springsteen or David Gray.

Hoya Headliner: Favorite Movie? Bisanzo: Remember The Titans and The Shawshank Redemption.

Hoya Headliner: Favorite TV show? Bisanzo: ESPN SportsCenter

Hoya Headliner: What are you looking forward to most as you enter your freshman year in college? Bisanzo: The opportunity to attend Georgetown and help the football team in any possible way that I can.
