WASHINGTON, D.C. - Freshman Drew Herma introduces himself in this edition of Hoya Headliner. Herma, a 5-9, 181 lbs. running back from Brookfield, Wis., earned first-team all-conference and honorable mention all-state honors following his senior season at Brookfield Central High School. Hoya Headliner: What coach recruited you and how was the recruiting process for you?
Herma: Coach KiJuan Ware was my recruiting coach. The overall recruiting process was amazing. I was very excited, and I loved getting to know my recruiting coach and learning what the Georgetown experience was all about.
Hoya Headliner: How long have you been on campus for?
Herma: I have been on campus since July 6th; however, I had visited the campus multiple times during my decision making process.
Hoya Headliner: Have you enjoyed being on campus so far?
Herma: Yes, I love the campus so far. There are a lot of educational and athletic opportunities.
Hoya Headliner: What ultimately was the final decision in your selecting Georgetown?
Herma: I ultimately chose Georgetown because it was the perfect combination of athletics and academics.
Hoya Headliner: How has the transition from high school to college been for you so far?
Herma: My transition from high school to college has been challenging so far, but it is very exciting to learn new things everyday.
Hoya Headliner: How have preseason workouts been going?
Herma: My preseason workouts have been going very well. The workouts are a great way to get into shape and help you reach your maximum ability for the season.
Hoya Headliner: Has anything surprised you as far as the amount of conditioning and weight room work you are doing?
Herma: No, I have not been surprised. At the college level, I expected the intensity and amount of conditioning and weight room work to increase to help strengthen my abilities for the season.
Hoya Headliner: What were your first impressions when you faced the challenge of the famed Exorcist Steps?
Herma: I think the Exorcist Steps are a good challenge and an awesome way to work on leg strength.
Hoya Headliner: Are there any players you've become friends with right away?
Herma: As a group, we are trying to get to know each other. As of right now, I have had the most opportunity to get to know James Brady, Jeremiah Kayal and Tucker Stafford.
Hoya Headliner: Have you been able to explore M Street and Washington, D.C. at all?
Herma: Yes, I have had dinner on M street a few times. I have also been able to tour various Washington monuments and my local surroundings.
Hoya Headliner: What song gets you pumped up before games?
Herma: "Put a Girl in It" by Brooke and Dunn
Hoya Headliner: Who is your favorite football player?
Herma: Brett Favre
Hoya Headliner: Who are your favorite teams, first in football and then other sports?
Herma: The Green Bay Packers are my favorite football team and the Boston Celtics for basketball.
Hoya Headliner: What would you do if you won a million dollars?
Herma: I would invest it in stocks and bonds.

Hoya Headliner: What are you looking forward to most as you enter your freshman year in college?
Herma: I am most looking forward to many awesome experiences at Georgetown University while continuing my education and my athletic career.
