June 18, 2009

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Georgetown University Athletics Department announced that the 70th Homecoming Game will take place on Saturday, Sept. 26 when the Hoyas host local rival Howard at the Multi-Sport Field.

Kickoff between Georgetown and the Bison is slated for 2 p.m. on the Hilltop.

The football game will be among several home events for Georgetown athletic teams that weekend.

On Friday, Sept. 25, the women's soccer team will host BIG EAST Conference rival Rutgers at North Kehoe Field at 1 p.m. The second game of a doubleheader will feature the Hoyas men's soccer team taking on BIG EAST foe Villanova at 4 p.m.

Last year, the teams met for the first time in the D.C. Cup, with sophomore quarterback James Brady (Melville, N.Y./St. Anthony's) throwing a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to seal a 12-7 win for the Blue & Gray.

The weekend home athletic events will conclude on Sunday, Sept. 27 when the men's soccer team hosts conference opponent Rutgers at North Kehoe Field, beginning at 1 p.m.
