The Georgetown Men's Golf Team led through the first two rounds of the BIG EAST Championship at Innisbrook Resort's par 71 Copperhead course. The Hoyas totaled 580 after two rounds, leading St. John's by five strokes. The team tied a record last achieved in September 2008 at the John Dallio Memorial Classic with a 286 total for the second round.
Vincenzo Salina (Sr., Vandoeuvres, Switzerland/Institut Florimont) paced the Hoyas and was number two on the leader board with a two round total of 141. Brandon Ellis (Jr., Westerville, Ohio/St. Francis de Sales) was part of a three way tie for sixth with 145. Ellis led all golfers in Birdies with 8 through two rounds. Brian Dorfman (So., Greenwood Village, Colo./Cherry Creek) ended the second round with 147, tied for 16th. One stroke back Daniel Hathaway (Jr., Rockville, Md./Georgetown Prep) shot a 148 tied for 21st. Taylor Hall's (So., Roswell, Ga./Blessed Trinity) 151 tied him for 41st place.
Final round is scheduled to conclude Tuesday.
