Georgetown Takes Down Lafayette, 28-24

EASTON, Pa. (AP) -Phillip Oladeji's 30-yard touchdown run gave Georgetown the lead in the third quarter and the Hoyas held on to defeat mistake-prone Lafayette 28-24 on Saturday night.

Trailing 24-14, the Hoyas (2-0, 1-0 Patriot League) struck quickly on their opening second-half possession when Scott Darby hit Max Waizenegger with a 51-yard scoring pass on the third play.

The Leopards (0-1, 0-1) then drove to the Georgetown 6, but Ryan O'Neil's pass was intercepted in the end zone by Wayne Heimuli.

The Hoyas proceeded to drive 80 yards in 10 plays, ending with Oladeji's run.

In the fourth quarter, a 49-yard Lafayette drive ended in a missed field goal, a 61-yard drive ended with a fumble and Jayah Kasamba's interception of Marc Quilling halted a 60-yard drive at the Hoyas' 3 with 1:58 left.

Jerome Rudolph rushed 24 times for 131 yards and a touchdown for Lafayette.
