Georgetown Women's Golf to Play at Badger Invitational

Sept. 24, 2010

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Head Women's Golf Coach Patty Post will lead her team into familiar territory this weekend as the Hoyas begin play at the Badger Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 26.

It is familiar territory for Post as she leads her squad of six golfers to play on her collegiate course. Post was a standout at Wisconsin from 1995-99.

The 54-hole tournament (being held on Sunday, Sept. 26 and Monday, Sept. 27) will be played at the par 72, 6,205-yard University Ridge Golf Course. The tournament begins with 36 holes Sunday in a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. ET. Pairings for the final 18 holes on Monday will be determined by score. Monday's shotgun start will be at 9 a.m. ET. The low four individual scores will determine the team score for each round.

The 11 teams participating include Augusta State, Bradley, Bucknell, Drake, Georgetown, Iowa, North Dakota State, Southern Methodist, Texas-El Paso, Wisconsin and Xavier. Pairings for the tournament will be available on Saturday.

The Hoyas finished in fourth place last week at the Princeton Invitational to open the season. The Hoyas shot a three-round score of 44-over par 908, finishing 12 shots behind tournament champion Yale, who topped the field at 32-over par 896. Princeton was second at 35-over par 899, while Penn finished in third place at 43-over par 907.

Junior Eunae Jo (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) was the top finisher for Georgetown, tying for sixth place overall. Jo led a Hoya lineup that had three players finish among the top-20 overall. She posted an 8-over par 224. Jo's best round was a 1-over par 73 in Saturday's first round.

In her first collegiate event, freshman Alice Choi (Whitestone, N.Y./Holy Cross) tied for 12th place, shooting a 10-over par 226. Choi posted a 6-over par 78 in the first round but closed out the weekend with rounds of 3-over par 75 and 1-over par 73, respectively.

Georgetown's lineup includes sophomore Jordan Redfield (Ft. Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood), junior Joan Dulieu (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Detroit Country Day) and sophomore Audrey Dalton (Portland, Ore./St. Mary's Academy). Freshman Molly Plomaritis (Boston, Mass./Grimsley [N.C.]) will compete as an individual.
