GLENCOE, Ill. - The Georgetown University men's golf team finished 10th overall in the 14-team field at the Windon Memorial Classic at the par-71, 6,886-yard Lake Shore Country Club, when the third round concluded on Monday afternoon.
Freshman Harrison Rhoades (Raleigh, N.C./Needham Broughton) shot a 1-under par 70 in the third round to finish ninth overall with 2-under par 213.
As a team, Georgetown carded a 4-over par 288 over the final 18 holes to finish at 15-over par 867 against a challenging field. GU finished three strokes behind Southeastern Louisiana and North Texas and five strokes behind Indiana, who finished seventh. Purdue won the tournament, firing an 22-under par 830, followed by Michigan and Northwestern.
Sophomore Cole Berman (Philadelphia, Pa./The Haverford School) shot an even-par 71 in the third round to finish tied for 30th overall at 3-over par 216. Sophomore Jack Musgrave (Chesterton, Ind./Andrean) turned in his best round of the tournament, firing a 1-over par 72 to finish 7-over par 220, good for 44th place.
Sophomore Sam Madsen (Madison, Wis./Edgewood/Cardinal Gibbons[Fla.]) and freshman Kevin Jackson (Atlanta, Ga./The Marist School) finished tied with a 13-over par 226.
Georgetown returns to action next week when it travel to Firestone, Ohio to take part in The Firestone Invitational. Play from the Firestone Golf Club begins on Monday, October 5 and concludes the following day.
