WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University football team will host Columbia University on Saturday afternoon for a contest during Georgetown's Homecoming Weekend. Kickoff is slated for 2:05 p.m. at Cooper Field.

Live stats and a link to the live broadcast on the Patriot League Network will be available at www.GUHoyas.com. The pregame show, which will begin at 1:50 p.m., will simultaneously be aired on the Georgetown Football Facebook page.

What's at Stake
Georgetown is off to its first 2-0 start since the 2012 season after wins over Davidson (38-14) and Marist (20-17). A win over Columbia on Saturday would make the Hoyas 3-0 for the first time since 1999.

Georgetown and Columbia will battle for the Lou Little Trophy for the second-straight season, part of a 10-year series between the two programs. In 2015, the first year of competition for the Lou Little Trohy, the Hoyas defeated Columbia, 24-16, at the Lions' Robert K. Kraft Field. Quarterback Kyle Nolan completed 21-of-32 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 41 yards and another touchdown. Wide receiver Justin Hill (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) finished with four receptions and a career-high 118 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown reception that helped seal the victory for the Blue & Gray. Henry Darmstadter (Fairfax, Va./George Mason) connected on a career-long 46-yard field goal in the second quarter.

College Football Hall of Fame Head Coach Lou Little, who coached at both Georgetown and Columbia, arrived on the Hilltop in 1924 and helped bring Georgetown football into the modern era. He recorded a 41-12-3 record over six seasons, while also serving as athletics director. His .759 win percentage is still the highest among GU head coaches who have coached more than 20 games on the Hilltop. Little took over at Columbia in 1930 and continued his Hall of Fame career until 1956. At Columbia, he posted 110 victories.

Last Time Out
Georgetown, which is coming off its bye week, most recently defeated Marist on the road, 20-17. Tim Barnes (Oradell, N.J./River Dell Regional) was 23-of-45, passing for 208 yards and one touchdown and he also ran 12 times for 32 yards. Alex Valles (Danvers, Mass./Danvers) rushed 15 times for 93 yards while Justin Harrell (New Orleans/Newman) led the receiving corps with eight catches for 84 yards and a touchdown. The Georgetown defense held Marist to 0-of-13 on third down conversions and under 100 yards rushing.

Defensive lineman Hunter Kiselick (Nutley, N.J./Bergen Catholic) was named the Patriot League and STATS FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week after blocking two field goals to preserve Georgetown's three-point victory. Additionally, Phil Novacki (Great Falls, Va./Langley) and Harrell were both named Honorable Mention for their efforts against the Red Foxes.

Scouting Columbia
The Lions dropped its season opener last weekend, dropping a 13-9 decision to Saint Francis (Pa.). Quarterback Skyler Mornhinweg had 15 completions for 112 yards while Chris Schroer ran for a career-high 73 yards. The Columbia defense allowed 397 total yards. The Lions return All-Ivy League defensive back Jared Katz and punter Cameron Nizialek from a year ago, along with eight starters on offense and six on defense. Columbia added 39 newcomers to the team, the No. 3 ranked recruiting class in the nation. In 2015, six of Columbia's eight losses were by 10 points or less.

About the Matchup
Georgetown enters Saturday's matchup with a 1-2 all-time record against Columbia. Before last year's 24-16 victory for the Hoyas, the two teams had met just twice before, with the Lions winning in 2006 and 1901.

Saturday is the first of three-consecutive matchups against Ivy League programs. The Hoyas are 3-8 in the past five years against opponents from the Ivy League and 2-3 under Head Coach Rob Sgarlata.

Each week, Sgarlata and his staff select game captains to serve alongside 2016 team captains David Akere (Carrollton, Texas/Hebron) and Tim Barnes. These players are chosen on a weekly basis based on their actions both on and off the field.

This week's captains are junior offensive lineman Nick James (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) on offense, senior defensive lineman Hunter Kiselick on defense and sophomore defensive back Blaise Brown (New Orleans, La./St. Augustine/Loomis Chaffee) on special teams.

Following Saturday's game against Columbia, Georgetown will head on the road for its second-straight matchup with an Ivy League opponent. The Hoyas will play at Harvard on Friday night with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. at Harvard Stadium. A live broadcast of the game will be available on ESPN3.
