Blaise Brown Earns Patriot League Weekly Honors

Oct. 2, 2017

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University junior defensive back Blaise Brown (New Orleans, La./St. Augustine/Loomis Chaffee) has earned Patriot League Honorable Mention honors, recognizing his efforts in GU's game against Harvard at historic RFK Stadium on Saturday.

Brown set a career high with nine tackles, tying with teammate David Akere (Carrollton, Texas/Hebron) for game-high honors. He also had a career-best two interceptions, both of which came in the red zone to halt long Harvard drives. He made a diving catch in the end zone on the first play of the second quarter to prevent a touchdown, and then intercepted another pass at the 17-yard line in the third quarter. All three of Brown's career interceptions have come against the Crimson.

This is the first career weekly honor for Brown, and the third honorable mention selection for the Blue & Gray this season.

The Hoyas will hit the road for its final nonconference game of the year, playing at Princeton University on Saturday, October 7. Kickoff at Powers Field is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on the Ivy League Network.
