Khristian Tate Earns Honorable Mention Honors

Oct. 23, 2017

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University sophomore defensive lineman Khristian Tate (Warner Robins, Ga./Covenant Academy) has been named Patriot League Honorable Mention, recognizing his efforts in Georgetown's game against Fordham this past Saturday.

Tate tied a career high with eight tackles, while also registering 1.5 sacks and a quarterback hurry. The Preseason All-Patriot League selection led a defensive front that allowed just 36 yards on the ground and recorded 2.0 sacks in the fourth quarter.

This is Tate's first weekly honor of the season, and the third of his career. He earned honorable mention and rookie of the week honors in back-to-back weeks last year as a freshman. Overall, this is the fifth weekly honor from the Patriot League for the Blue & Gray.

The Hoyas will head back out on the road this weekend, traveling to Worcester, Mass., for a matchup against Holy Cross on Saturday, Oct. 28. Kickoff at Fitton Field is scheduled for 1 p.m.
