WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis team defeated Villanova in the BIG EAST Tournament back draw on Saturday by a score of 4-0. With the victory, the Hoyas improved to 13-6 on the season while Villanova fell to 9-17.

Victoire Saperstein (Las Vegas, Nev./Odyssey Charter School) recorded her 100th career victory with wins in singles and doubles play. Saperstein won at No. 1 singles by a score of 6-1, 6-2 and at No. 1 doubles with Sophia Bernard (Mill Neck, N.Y./Portledge School) by a score of 6-4.

The Hoyas got off to a strong start by taking the doubles point. In addition to the victory at No. 1, the Blue & Gray also picked up a win at No. 2 when Margaret Psyhogeos (Wellesley, Mass./Noble and Greenough) and Sydney Goodson (Great Falls, Va./Langley High School) won by a score of 6-2.

Georgetown continued its strong performance into singles play by winning all three completed matches. In addition to Saperstein's win, the Hoyas won at No. 3 and No. 4. Risa Nakagawa (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./Palos Verdes Peninsula) won at No. 3, 6-1,6-1, and Goodson won at No. 4 by a score of 6-1, 6-0.
