BEALLSVILLE, Md. – Georgetown University's men's golf team carded a final round 304 for a three-round total of 868 to finish third at the 34th Annual Georgetown Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Four Streams. The Hoyas pulled within a stroke of eventual champion Princeton mid-round, but a late push by BIG EAST foe Seton Hall gave the Blue & Gray its top-three finish.
Eduardo Blochtein (Delray Beach, Fla. / Spanish River) finished the tournament with a 2-over par 215 to tie for fourth overall and
Will O'Neill (Morristown, N.J. / Morristown) tied for 17th with a 5-over 218.
Patrick DiPasquale (Rochester, N.Y. / McQuaid Jesuit) tied for 28th at 221,
Will Rand (New York, N.Y. / Blair Academy [N.J.]) tied for 33rd with a 222 and
Hardin Councill (High Point, N.C. / Westchester Country Day) posted a 224 to tie for 37th.
Playing as individuals,
Anthony Perrino (Concord, N.C. / The Canon School) tied for 48th at 228,
Kevin Jackson (Atlanta, Ga. / Marist School) tied for 54th at 232,
Noah Moss (Bethesda, Md. / Walter Johnson) was 61st with a 234,
Taso Scilaris (Bethesda, Md. / Walter Johnson) shot a 235 to tie for 62nd and
Tim Rotermund (Madison, Conn. / Trinity Prep [Fla.]) posted a 267 to place 70th.
Princeton (856) went wire-to-wire to win the tournament, followed by Seton Hall (862) after a steady comeback from seventh overall in the first round and fourth after 36 holes. The Hoyas (868) finished third, just ahead of Butler (871), Saint Joseph's (875) and Florida Atlantic (875). St. Bonaventure (882) and William & Mary (882) tied for seventh while Navy (888), Brown (891), Rhode Island (894) and Penn (898) rounded out the competition.
The Hoyas wrap up their fall schedule at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate, hosted by Old Dominion at the Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, North Carolina, from Oct. 21-22.
