WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team concludes the fall portion of its season this weekend when it makes the short trip to compete in the Lady Blue Hen Invitational, hosted by the University of Delaware, this weekend. The two-day, three-round tournament will be played at the par-71, 5,932-yard Rehoboth Beach Country Club.

Teams will tee off in the first round at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, with the second round beginning immediately following the conclusion of the first 18 holes. Sunday's final round will get underway at 9 a.m. The Hoyas will be part of a 12-team field that includes Bucknell, Columbia, Delaware, High Point, James Madison, Penn, Quinnipiac, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Towson and Western Michigan.
 
Georgetown is coming off a sixth-place finish at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington, posting a three-round score of 42-over par 906. The Hoyas tied a season high with a 297 in Tuesday's first round, before carding rounds of 308 and 301 over the final 36 holes. Senior Alexa Popowitz (Boca Raton, Fla. / St. Andrew's) was GU's top scorer, finishing at 7-over par 223 to place in a tie for 15th. After turning in scores of 76 and 74 on Tuesday, Popowitz came back with a 1-over par 73 on Wednesday to climb seven spots in the rankings. Junior Ashley Fitzgibbons (Sammamish, Wash. / Eastlake Senior), playing in her hometown, carded a career-best 2-under par 70 in the first round and finished 18th overall.
 
Head Coach Kate Schanuel will send out a lineup of Popowitz and Fitzgibbons, along with seniors Christina Parsells (Bernardsville, N.J. / Kent Place) and Pendleton Bogache (Myrtle Beach, S.C. / Episcopal [Va.]) and junior Kate Evanko (West Chester, Pa. / Unionville).
