HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Georgetown University football team fell 38-0 on the road to No. 11/16 Colgate in a matchup of the final two unbeaten teams in the Patriot League. With the loss, the Hoyas saw their three-game winning streak ended as they fell to 4-5 overall and 3-1 in league play. The Raiders improve to 7-0 on the year and 4-0 in the Patriot League.
Blaise Brown (New Orleans, La. / St. Augustine / Loomis Chaffee) finished with a career-high 15 tackles, including recording his 200th career tackle.
Xavier Reddick (Powder Springs, Ga. / McEachern) was also in double digits with 11 tackles while adding a sack and 2.5 tackles-for-loss.
Gunther Johnson (Anthem, Ariz. / Boulder Creek / Arizona) completed eight passes for 48 yards and
Jay Tolliver (Columbus, Ohio / Gahanna Lincoln) finished with team highs with 16 rushing yards and 24 receiving yards.
The Hoya defense held Colgate off the board in the first quarter, helped by a fourth down stop in the red zone and a
Wes Bowers (Fort Washington, Md. / Bishop McNamara) sack.
The Raiders opened the scoring with a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs early in the second quarter. A 22-yard field goal made it 17-0 before a 55-yard interception return in the final minute of the half made it 24-0.
Georgetown again held the Raiders off the board in the third quarter, but touchdown runs of 1- and 4-yards in the fourth quarter closed out the scoring, 38-0.
The Hoyas will enjoy their bye week before closing out the regular season with a pair of home games, hosting Bucknell on Nov. 10 and Holy Cross on Nov. 17. Both games will kick off at 12:30 p.m.
The game against Bucknell will not be ticketed, however capacity at Cooper Field will be monitored. Please arrive early in to ensure your admission to the game.
