WASHINGTON – Georgetown University football senior defensive back
Blaise Brown (New Orleans, La. / St. Augustine / Loomis Chaffee) has been named Patriot League Honorable Mention, as announced by the league office on Monday. The award recognizes Brown's efforts in Georgetown's game at Colgate on Saturday.
Brown finished with a career-high 15 tackles at Colgate, leading all Patriot League defenders. He recorded his 200th career tackle on Colgate's first drive of the game. Brown led a GU defense that held the Raiders, the top-scoring offense in the conference, off the scoreboard for two of the four quarters.
This is Brown second honorable mention selection of the season, and the ninth of the season for the Hoyas. He was also named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week after the first week of the season.
The Hoyas will have their bye week before closing out the regular season with a pair of home games, hosting Bucknell on Nov. 10 and Holy Cross on Nov. 17. Both games will kick off at 12:30 p.m.
The game against Bucknell will not be ticketed, however capacity at Cooper Field will be monitored. Please arrive early in to ensure your admission to the game. Georgetown's Senior Day contest against Holy Cross on Nov. 17 is currently sold out.
