Georgetown Falls to Barry

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's tennis team fell to Barry University, 5-1, on Thursday at the Buccaneer Tennis Center in Miami Shores, Florida. While the Buccaneers improved to 7-1 on the season, the Hoyas slipped to 2-4.

In doubles action, freshman Charlie Sharton (Wayland, Mass./Wayland) and junior Will Sharton (Wayland, Mass./Wayland) defeated their opponents, Carlos Gomez and Vivien Versier, at No. 3 pairs, 9-7. The Buccaneers won the other two matches in doubles, taking a 2-1 lead heading into the singles matches.

In singles, Barry won three-consecutive matches, making the score 5-1, while the remainder of the matches went unfinished.

The Blue & Gray will return to action next Saturday, March 17, to face Temple. The match is set for 6 p.m. and will be played at the Arlington YMCA.
