WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team returns to the links this weekend, taking part in the Nittany Lion Invitational, hosted by Penn State. The two-day, three-round tournament will be played at the par-72, 6,322-yard Penn State Blue Course in University Park, Pennsylvania.
The 16-team field will tee off in a shotgun start on Saturday morning, beginning at 9 a.m. The second round will immediately follow the conclusion of the first 18 holes and Sunday's final round will again begin at 9 a.m. in a shotgun start format. Live scoring is available at GUHoyas.com.
The Hoyas will be going against 15 other programs that includes two other BIG EAST opponents in Seton Hall and Xavier. The rest of the field is made up of Akron, Bucknell, High Point, Ohio, Penn State, the University of Pennsylvania, Rollins, Rutgers, Santa Clara, Navy, Washington, Yale and Youngstown State.
Georgetown is coming off a 18th-place finish at the 15th annual Cougar Classic, hosted by the College of Charleston. The Hoyas turned in a 36-hole score of 30-over par 606 before the tournament's final round was cancelled because of the approach of Hurricane Florence. The Blue & Gray was part of a strong 19-team field, which included eight teams ranked inside the top 25 at the end of last season and 11 teams that participated in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. Senior
Pendleton Bogache (Myrtle Beach, S.C. / Episcopal [Va.]) was Georgetown's top scorer, carding identical 74 scores in each round to finish at 4-over par 148. She birdied two of the final four holes on Monday to move into a tie for 48th place.

Baili Park (Germantown, Tenn. / Houston High School) will compete in her first collegiate tournament.
Following the Nittany Lion Invitational, the Blue & Gray will next be in action the weekend of Sept. 29-30 the team travels to New Jersey for the Princeton Invitational. The Hoyas will be looking to defend their title from last fall when they led from wire-to-wire with a three-round score of 41-over par 905, defeating second-place Harvard by 14 strokes.
