WASHINGTON – Georgetown University junior
Patrick DiPasquale (Rochester, N.Y. / McQuaid Jesuit) finished in a three-way tie for medalist honors at the Wildcat Fall Invitational on Sunday. DiPasquale shot rounds of 72, 71 and 72 to finish 2-over par 215 for his first career tournament victory.
As a team, the Hoyas finished in third place with a three-round score of 873 after posting a 295 in Sunday's final round.
DiPasquale shared medalist honors with Tripp Summerlin and Chance Watson from team champions Appalachian State. There was no playoff for individual honors.
Eduardo Blochtein (Delray Beach, Fla. / Spanish River) finished tied for 10th overall with rounds of 73, 73 and 72 for a 5-over par 218.
Hardin Councill (High Point, N.C. / Westchester Country Day) and
Will O'Neill (Morristown, N.J. / Morristown) tied for 20th with matching scores of 8-over par 221.
Playing as an individual,
Anthony Perrino (Concord, N.C. / The Canon School) tied for 31st with a 227 and
Will Rand (New York, N.Y. / Blair Academy [N.J.]) was 35th at 228.
Appalachian State (864) won the event by eight strokes over second place Delaware (872). Georgetown (873) was third, followed by VCU (875), St. John's (877) and Seton Hall (880) while host Villanova (882) rounded out the field in seventh place.
Georgetown returns to action on Monday, Oct. 8 at the Mountaineer Invitational, hosted by West Virginia.
