WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University field hockey team dropped to 5-8 and 1-3 in the BIG EAST Conference after Friday's 2-1 overtime loss against Temple (5-5,1-3 BIG EAST) at Cooper Field. The Hoyas were down 1-0 with just over three minutes left to play when Anna Farley scored after finding her way to the middle of the arc during a GU penalty corner. Despite their late efforts, the Hoyas were defeated on a walk-off shot from the Owls.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Ellie Maransky had a near goal three minutes into the game that was just wide of the goal.

After a GU stop Temple's Becky Gerhart scored off a rebound with 11:52 to go in the second quarter .

Farley got the game tied up 1-1 with 3:19 left in regulation .

In overtime Michaela Bruno fed Cami Osborne deep in the arc for a chance at goal but the Owls came up with the stop.

Temple scored in OT at the 2:04 mark.
