WASHINGTON – For the second-consecutive week, Georgetown University football sophomore linebacker
Justin Fonteneaux has earned Patriot League Honorable Mention honors, as announced by the league office on Monday. The award recognizes his performance in GU's heartbreaking 30-27 loss to Fordham on Saturday.
A week after setting a career high with 11 tackles at Cornell, Fonteneaux reset that personal best with 13 tackles against the Rams. He also forced a fumble and recorded his second interception of the season. He returned his interception into the red zone, setting up a first quarter touchdown. Fonteneaux led a GU defense that forced two turnovers and ranks fourth nationally in both scoring defense (13.0 ppg) and total defense (276.7 ygp).
The Blue & Gray will remain at home for a matchup against Lafayette on Oct. 19. Kickoff at Cooper Field is set for noon and the game will be broadcast live on Stadium.
