WASHINGTON – Georgetown University football sophomore linebacker
Justin Fonteneaux has earned Patriot League Honorable Mention honors on Monday, as announced by the league office. The award recognizes his performance in GU's 14-8 win at Cornell on Saturday.
Fonteneaux led the Hoyas with a career-high 11 tackles, five of which were solo, and had 1.5 TFL. Recorded a 3-yard TFL the play before Cornell missed a 43-yard field goal attempt late in the first half. Eight of his 11 tackles came in the second half as the GU defense only allowed 224 total yards, while holding the Big Red to 30 rushing yards on 35 attempts. Overall, Georgetown forced five three-and-outs and only gave up one drive of longer than 40 yards. This is Fonteneaux's first career weekly honor from the Patriot League.
