Hoyas Travel for Matchup at Bucknell Saturday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team opens a two-game road stretch to close out the season when it travels to Bucknell on Saturday for a Patriot League game. Kickoff at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m.

ABOUT GEORGETOWN
  • Georgetown enters Saturday's contest with a 5-4 overall record and a 1-3 mark in Patriot League play.
  • A win on Saturday would clinch the program's first winning season since 2011.
  • Gunther Johnson has completed 60.1 percent of his passes for 1,311 yards and 11 touchdowns, while also rushing for 310 yards and six scores.
  • Herman Moultrie III leads the GU rushing attack with 379 yards and seven touchdowns, the most by a Hoya since 2012.
  • Joshua Tomas leads the receiving corps with 40 catches for 558 yards, while Michael Dereus has team highs of 611 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns.

  • The Hoyas fell on Senior Day to Colgate, 24-14 on Nov. 2.
  • Johnson completed 10 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for 42 yards and a score.
  • Joshua Stakely led the rushing attack with 74 yards on 11 carries, while Jackson Saffold added 45 yards.
  • Tomas caught four passes for 44 yards and a touchdown.
  • Ahmad Wilson led the defense with a career high 12 tackles, while Reddick added nine.
 
SCOUTING BUCKNELL
  • Bucknell enters Saturday's matchup with a 2-7 overall record and a 2-2 mark in the Patriot League after defeating Lehigh 20-10 last week.
  • The Bison are averaging 16.1 ppg while the defense is allowing 34.3 ppg and nearly 450 yards of offense. Opponents have scored 41 touchdowns against Bucknell, including 27 through the air.
  • Logan Bitikofer has played all nine games at quarterback, completing 138 passes for 1,354 yards and nine touchdowns while also throwing five interceptions.
  • Jared Cooper and Chad Freshnock have each rushed 80 times for 338 and 301 yards, respectively, to lead the rushing attack.
  • Brandon Sanders leads the Bison receiving corps with 55 catches for 512 yards and three touchdowns.
 
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • Georgetown and Bucknell are meeting for the 32nd time, with the Bison holding an 18-12-1 series advantage.
  • The Hoyas won last year's matchup 14-3 at GU's Cooper Field as the defense had a season-high seven sacks.
  • Moultrie had a career-high 135 rushing yards and had a receiving touchdown while Johnson also ran for a score.
