WASHINGTON – Georgetown University senior kicker
Brad Hurst was named the Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Additionally, freshman running back
Joshua Stakely earned Patriot League Honorable Mention honors. Both players received accolades for their performances Saturday at Bucknell.
BRAD HURST
- This is Hurst's second career selection as Special Teams Player of the Week, and first this season. He was given honorable mention honors following the season opener earlier this fall.
- Hurst punted seven times on Saturday for 281 yards, averaging 40.1 yards per punt.
- He landed two punts inside the Bucknell 20-yard line and had a long punt of 50 yards.
- Hurst was good on his only field goal attempt of the day, connecting from 23 yards away, and made both PAT attempts.
JOSHUA STAKELY
- Stakely had a career day on Saturday, registering his first career 100-yard rushing game as he finished with 139 yards on the ground.
- He ran for 139 yards on 28 carries, also a career high, for an average of 5.0 yards per carry.
- He scored Georgetown's second touchdown in the third quarter as he ran in from 15 yards out to give the Hoyas a 17-6 lead.
- His 139 rushing yards were the most by a Hoya since Jo'el Kimpela had 142 yards against Bucknell in 2015.
COMING UP NEXT
The Blue & Gray will close the season on Saturday, Nov. 23 when the squad travels to Holy Cross. Kickoff in Worcester, Massachusetts is scheduled for noon and the game will be broadcast on Stadium.
