WASHINGTON – Georgetown University junior third baseman
Eddie McCabe has been named to the 2020 Preseason Baseball All-BIG EAST Team, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. The preseason team was selected by votes of the league's seven head coaches.
EDDIE MCCABE
- McCabe was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team in 2019 after leading the Hoyas with a .345 (70-203) batting average, ranking third in the BIG EAST in hits and fourth in batting average.
- He finished second on the squad with five home runs, 32 RBIs and 35 runs scored.
- McCabe had a team-high 22 multi-hit games, including a pair of four-hit performances.
- In conference play, he batted .344 (22-64) with four home runs and 11 RBIs.
- He ended the season with three multi-hit efforts in GU's series victory over Butler, including going 4 for 4 with his first career multi-home run game, scoring three runs and driving in four, in the season finale.

- The Hoyas were picked to finish seventh.
- Creighton earned the top spot while Seton Hall, St. John's and Xavier all finished in a three-way tie for second.
- Butler and Villanova were fifth and sixth, respectively.
2019 RECAP
Georgetown is coming off of a 2019 season that saw it finish with a record of 22-34. The Hoyas went 7-11 in BIG EAST play, finishing in fifth place, one game out from a postseason berth.
