WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team will close out home BIG EAST Conference play this weekend hosting the Seton Hall University Pirates at 11 a.m. on Friday and the St. John's University Red Storm at 2 p.m. on Sunday.  Both contests will be played at McDonough Arena.  The Hoyas are currently 11-14 on the season and 5-9 in league play.
 
Friday's game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) with Ben Gordon-Goldstein and Hoya alum Monica McNutt (C'11) calling the action.  Sunday's contest will be broadcast live on FS2 with John Fanta and Fred Hill on the call.
 
Last weekend, Georgetown fell 91-43 at Villanova University.  Freshman guard Tayanna Jones (Selma, N.C. / North Johnston) was the lone Hoya in double figures with a career-best 10 points, while graduate student guard Dorothy Adomako (Midlothian, Va. / Cosby) added eight points.  Junior guard Morgan Smith (Upper Marlboro, Md. / Riverdale Baptist) led the Hoyas on the boards with six rebounds.  The Hoyas shot 27.3 percent (15 for 55) from the field while allowing the Wildcats to shoot 64.9 percent (37 for 57). Georgetown was outrebounded by Villanova 40-25, and both teams committed 10 turnovers apiece.
 
GU has three players averaging double digits as Adomako and senior Dionna White (Baltimore, Md. / Milford Mill) lead the team with 15.7 and 14.8 ppg, respectively.  Graduate student Mikayla Venson (Arlington, Va. / Yorktown / Virginia) is third with 10.4 ppg.  Adomako and White are averaging 7.8 and 7.3 rpg to rank first and second on the squad, White has a team-best 79 assists on the season as well as 66 steals, and Venson has 59 helpers to her credit.  Adomako leads GU with 41 blocks, while junior forward Anita Kelava (Zagreb, Croatia / Croatian National Team / Maine) also has 41 blocks to her credit.
 
Georgetown leads the BIG EAST in blocks with 4.7 bpg.  Adomako ranks fourth in the league in scoring, while White sits at sixth and Venson at 28th.  Adomako is fifth in rebounding and White is ninth.  White ranks second in the conference in steals, and Adomako is second in the league in blocks per game while Kelava sits behind her at third.
 
Friday kicks of a three-game road swing for the Pirates to close out the regular season.  Seton Hall currently sits at 14-12 overall and 6-9 in league play.  The Hall is looking to bounce back after a tough weekend that saw it fall to the top two teams in the BIG EAST standings.  SHU fell to DePaul 94-85 on Friday, and No. 8 Marquette 109-63 on Sunday.  Shadeen Samuels continues to lead the BIG EAST in scoring in overall games (18.5 ppg) and conference-only games (20.5 ppg).
 
Georgetown is 28-37 all-time against the Pirates and 18-13 at home.  Earlier this season, the Blue & Gray fell to SHU 76-63 in New Jersey.  Adomako managed a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards.  In the last meeting at McDonough Arena, the Hoyas won 71-52 during the 2018 season. In the contest, White led the way with 21 points and Cynthia Petke had 17 points with 14 rebounds.
 
St. John's went 1-1 last weekend including an 81-74 victory over then-No. 8 Marquette on Friday.  For her efforts over the weekend, Tiana England was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.  The sophomore, averaged 17.0 points, 5.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds over the weekend.  The Red Storm is currently 13-13 overall and 6-9 in BIG EAST play.
 
The Blue & Gray is 28-35 all-time against the Red Storm and 17-13 at home.  Earlier this year, Georgetown fell 59-51 in New York.  Senior guard Brianna Jones (North Babylon, N.Y. / North Babylon / Louisville) led the team with 14 points in the game. The last meeting in The District was a 71-63 Hoya loss.  Venson led the way with 18 points, while White had 17 and Petke posted the 12 and 11 double-double.
 
Friday's contest is GU's School Day Game so admission is free.  On Sunday, fans can purchase tickets at WeAreGeorgetown.com.  Sunday will feature activities for children as well as Georgetown's Senior Day Ceremony.
