WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Head Women's Basketball Coach
Darnell Haney has announced the hiring of
Camille Collier as an assistant coach on the women's basketball staff. Collier is a DC native with a wealth of coaching experience, most recently at Tulane University. She will oversee recruiting efforts for the Hoyas.
Camille Collier
Assistant Coach
Camille Collier comes to the Hilltop after one season as an assistant coach at Tulane University. Her recruiting expertise will help the Hoyas bring in top-level talent.
In her season at Tulane with a new coaching staff, Collier and the Green Wave brought in the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year as well as two AAC All-Newcomer honorees. At Arizona State, she reunited with former college coach Natasha Adair to cultivate both All-Pac 12 and All-Big 12 selections.
Prior to ASU, Collier spent a season with Virginia Tech as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, helping the Hokies to a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament, the highest in program history. She also spent a pair of seasons at both Hofstra University and Radford University as an assistant coach at each stop. With Radford in 2019, Collier and the Highlanders were Big South Regular Season Champions and Big South Tournament Champions en route to an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Collier spent four seasons at Jacksonville University with Haney as both worked under Head Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin. In that time, the team made history winning the program's first Atlantic Sun Championship and earning an NCAA Tournament berth.
As a four-year player for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Collier emerged as a veteran leader while earning All-ACC Honor Roll each season. After graduating, she went to Georgia State in 2012 to serve as a graduate manager before moving into coaching.
A Washington, D.C. native, she was rated as the No. 100 best recruit and No. 27 point guard in the nation by the All-Star Report coming out of Sidwell Friends. Collier was named to the All-Independent School League Team twice, as well as Washington Post Second Team All-Met.
