WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's golf team shot a second round score of 287 to sit tied for 10th at the FAU Spring Invitational in Boca Raton, Florida on Saturday. The Hoyas shaved eight strokes off their opening round score and are currently 6-over par for the event.
Eduardo Blochtein (Delray Beach, Fla. / Spanish River) shot a team-best 68 to finish with a two-day total of 142 to tie for 12th.
Hardin Councill (High Point, N.C. / Westchester Country Day) matched his opening round 71 to keep pace with Blochtein tied for 12th at 142.
Patrick DiPasquale (Rochester, N.Y. / McQuaid Jesuit) is tied for 41st after carding a 76 on Saturday while
Will O'Neill (Morristown, N.J. / Morristown) moved up the leaderboard to tie for 62nd with a 72 in the second round.
Taso Scilaris (Bethesda, Md. / Walter Johnson) rounds out the Hoyas with an 82 for the second 18 holes.
Central Florida (561) leads the field at 15-under par while host Florida Atlantic (565) is 11-under. Bethune-Cookman (571), Southern Illinois (574), UConn (574), Houston Baptist (575) and Florida Gulf Coast (575) are all under par as well after 36 holes. George Mason (578) and the Hoyas (582) round out the top 10 while Hartford (589), Rhode Island (589), Murray State (600) and Xavier (610) close out the groupings.
