WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's golf team shot a second round score of 301 to shave 11 strokes off its opening round to remain in seventh place at the BIG EAST Championship Presented by Jeep on Saturday at the Callawassie Island Golf Club's Dogwood and Magnolia courses in South Carolina.
Will O'Neill (Morristown, N.J. / Morristown) and
Noah Moss (Bethesda, Md. / Walter Johnson) shot matching rounds of 74 on Saturday, followed by
Hardin Councill (High Point, N.C. / Westchester Country Day) at 76,
Eduardo Blochtein (Delray Beach, Fla. / Spanish River) at 77 and
Patrick DiPasquale (Rochester, N.Y. / McQuaid Jesuit) with an 84.
Blochtein continues to pace the Hoyas, tied for 18th overall with a two-round score of 152. O'Neill is tied for 22nd at 154, followed closely by Councill tied at 24th with a 155 and Moss tied for 28th with a 156. DiPasquale sits tied for 36th with a score of 162.
Marquette (591) jumped two spots from the opening round to take the team lead on Saturday. DePaul (597) remains in second, followed by Creighton (599), Butler (606), Seton Hall (608) and Xavier (609). The Hoyas (613), St. John's (622) and Villanova (623) round out the field after 36 holes.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament concludes on Sunday with the third and final round beginning at 8 a.m. Georgetown is paired with St. John's and Villanova for the round. Links to live results will be available on
