Owen Kessler has been named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Additionally, senior
Brad Hurst earned Patriot League Honorable Mention honors in the first weekly awards of the 2019 season. The awards recognize their performances in GU's season opener at Davidson on Saturday.
OWEN KESSLER
- Kessler led the Hoyas with a career-high 13 tackles, which was also a game high.
- He had 1.5 TFL and recovered a fumble in the third quarter as the Georgetown defense forced turnovers on three-straight possessions.
- He made six tackles, five solo, in the fourth quarter as the Hoyas battled in a tied game.
BRAD HURST
- Hurst punted three times for 159 yards, averaging 53 yards per kick.
- He had a 76-yard punt in the second quarter, a modern day program record. Also had a 52-yard punt and pinned the Wildcats inside their own 20-yard line twice.
- Connected on two of his three PAT attempts.
