WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University field hockey team (5-4) suffered its first conference loss of the season at the hands of Quinnipiac (3-4) on Friday at Cooper Field. The Hoyas scored with just six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to take a 1-0 lead, but a late goal in the final seconds allowed the Bobcats to take the game into overtime. GU couldn't capitalize on their opportunities late and Quinnipiac was able to escape Cooper Field with the 2-1 win.

Senior Michaela Bruno dribbled through the middle of the Quinnipiac defense to find freshman Ellie Maransky for her third goal of the season.

Quinnipiac's Julianna Cappello scored with 31 seconds left on the clock, off a lifted pass from Bianka Strubbe that was tipped by Brooke Whipkey before finding Cappello.

Sophomore Halle Gill and senior Emily Fraser each scored during shootout.

Amanda Funaro scored the game-winner in the shootout for the Bobcats after goals from Julianna Cappello and Bianka Strubbe.
