Box Score WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team opened BIG EAST play with a 3-2 come-from-behind victory on the road at Providence on Friday evening. The Hoyas improve to 11-4 on the season and 1-0 in league play.

• The win marks the second BIG EAST opening victory in as many seasons under Head Coach
Toby Rens.
• Georgetown last won league openers in back-to-back seasons in 2000-01.
• The Blue & Gray's winning streak now stands at eight.
• The list time GU posted an eight-match winning streak was in 1999.
• With the win, Georgetown improved to 30-16 all-time against the Friars.
