WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University field hockey team suffered a late 3-2 loss at the hands of James Madison on Sunday afternoon at the JMU Field Hockey Complex. GU held a 2-1 lead after three quarters of play, behind goals from senior Lindsay Getz and junior Cami Osborne. The Hoyas could not hold on late, giving up two goals in the fourth to drop to 2-2 on the season.
"We came up short today, but we continue to learn and build from each game," said Head Coach Christy Longacre. "We had some great moments to be proud of throughout and we are excited to be back home to prep for our next away weekend."
HOW IT HAPPENED

JMU's Eveline Zwager put the Dukes up early, scoring on a pass from Emilly Schutt.

Senior Michaela Bruno drew JMU's goalkeeper to the left and dished it out to Lindsay Getz for her 3rd goal on the season.

Cami Osborne shot from in front of the goal and found the back of the cage to give GU 2-1 lead.

Miranda Rigg scored her third goal of the year to even things at 2-2.

Rigg passed to Courtney Lynch from up top and Lynch scored to put JMU up 3-2.
