CHICAGO – The Georgetown University women's basketball team lost 92-66 to the No. 11/12 DePaul University Blue Demons Sunday afternoon at McGrath-Phillips Arena in a BIG EAST Conference matchup. With the loss, the Blue & Gray falls to 4-16 overall and 1-8 in the BIG EAST, while DePaul moves on to 19-2 on the season and a perfect 9-0 in the league.
How it Happened
- Georgetown opened the scoring on a layup from senior Anita Kelava, but DePaul answered.
- The Hoyas would tie it at seven after a 3-pointer in transition by graduate student Taylor Barnes.
- The Blue Demons staged a 13-0 run to pull away and led 31-15 at the end of the first.
- The Blue & Gray began the second quarter on a layup from junior Tatiana Thompson.
- Despite the deficit, the Hoyas continued to fight cutting it to 15 on five quick points from graduate student Brianna Jones and sophomore Nikola Kovacikova.
- DePaul scored late to make it 50-27 at the half.
- In the fourth quarter, the Hoyas found a late rhythm as sophomore Cassandra Gordon and Kovacikova hit from beyond the arc.
- The Hoyas pulled within 24, but it was too little too late as GU eventually fell by a score of 92-66.

- Three Hoyas led the way with 10 points apiece from Jones, Kelava and Barnes.
- Kelava pulled in seven rebounds and Jones added six on the afternoon.
- Georgetown shot 38 percent from the field hitting 25-of-65 shots, while DePaul was 47 percent hitting 33-of-70 shots.
- The Blue & Gray was outrebounded by the Blue Demons 47-36 and forced 16 turnovers while committing 15.
