Georgetown Football Signs 20 to NLIs on Early Signing Day

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team signed 20 newcomers to National Letters of Intent (NLI) as part of college football's Early Signing Day. The 20 student-athletes will come to the Hilltop as members of Georgetown's Class of 2025 and will join the Hoyas for the Fall 2021 season.
 
"I am extremely excited to welcome the newest members of the Hoya football family," Georgetown Head Coach Rob Sgarlata said. "This has been a unique year overall, with the recruiting process being no exception. I am extremely grateful to our coaches and staff for their tireless efforts to bring an exceptional class of student-athletes to the Hilltop. We definitely got closer to building a championship program both on and off the field with the addition of these talented individuals."
 
The 20 newcomers hail from 11 different states as well as the District of Columbia. Overall, the group includes 11 defensive players, eight on offense and one from special teams.

Prior to Georgetown: Was a four-year starter at Cardinal Gibbons High School, serving as a team captain as a junior … Named Cardinal Gibbons' Offensive Back of the Year in 2019 and earned second team all-state honors in 2020 … Helped lead Cardinal Gibbons to a state runner-up finish in 2019 … As a junior, finished with 81 carries for 380 rushing yards and nine touchdowns as well as 52 catches for 705 yards and three touchdowns … Was also a member of the lacrosse team, winning a state championship in 2020 … Grandfather, Gino Cappelletti, played football for the Boston Patriots and uncle, Tom Waddle, played for the Chicago Bears … Father, Jim, and uncle, Robert, both played football for Boston College … Brother, Jack, plays football and lacrosse at Yale … In the classroom, was an honor roll student.
