Hoyas Set for Wednesday Contest at Seton Hall

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team travels to Newark, N.J. on Wednesday night for a road tilt against Seton Hall. Tipoff at the Prudential Center is set for 5 p.m.
 
GAMEDAY INFORMATION
  • Wednesday's game can be seen live on FS1 with Joe Davis calling the play-by-play and Jim Jackson providing analysis.
  • The game can be heard locally on The Team 980 as well as SiriusXM 384 and Radio.com with Rich Chvotkin in his 47th season on the call.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Last time out, Georgetown dropped a 94-83 decision to St. John's on Sunday evening in a BIG EAST Conference matchup at Carnesecca Arena. It was GU's first road game of the season.
  • Jahvon Blair led the Hoyas with 25 points, marking his fourth 20-point effort of the season. He hit 8-of-9 from the free throw line while also leading the squad with six assists.
  • Donald Carey scored 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting, draining five 3-pointers.
  • The Blue & Gray knocked down 10 3-pointers, marking the fifth game this season the Hoyas have reached double digits from beyond the arc.
  • Through six games, Blair leads the Hoyas in scoring with 19.6 ppg, while Jamorko Pickett is averaging 12.3 ppg and pulling down a league-leading 9.3 rpg. 
  • Qudus Wahab (12.1 ppg) and Carey (11.1 ppg) are also in double figures, while Wahab is second on the team with 7.6 rpg and is second in the BIG EAST with 2.7 bpg.
  • The Hoyas lead the BIG EAST in rebounding (43.0 rpg), are third in rebounding margin (+5.6) and blocked shots (4.7 bpg), and fourth in 3-pointers made (9.4/game).

SCOUTING SETON HALL
  • Seton Hall enters Wednesday's matchup with a 5-4 overall record and a 2-1 mark in BIG EAST play, having fallen to Providence in overtime on Sunday.
  • The Pirates average 76.6 ppg while shooting at a 45.7 percent clip. Their opponents are scoring 71.3 ppg and shooting 43.3 percent from the floor.
  • Sandro Mamukelashvili is scoring 20.0 ppg, which ranks third in the BIG EAST. Jared Rhoden (14.6 ppg) and Myles Cale (10.7 ppg) are also in double figures. Mamukelashvili and Rhoden lead the squad with 7.1 rpg. Shavar Reynolds Jr. is dishing out 5.0 apg.
 
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • Sunday will be the 111th all-time meeting between Georgetown and Seton Hall, with the Hoyas holding a 59-51 series advantage.
  • Georgetown has dropped the last three games to the Pirates, with Seton Hall winning both matchups last year, taking a 78-62 win in Newark before edging the Hoyas 78-71 at Capital One Arena.
  • In the two games last year, Pickett averaged 9.5 ppg and 9.5 rpg. Blair averaged 12.5 ppg, scoring 18 points in the second meeting with a 9-for-9 performance from the free throw line.
  • Patrick Ewing is 2-5 against Seton Hall as GU's head coach and went a perfect 8-0 against the Pirates as a player.
