Julie Culley Resigns as Director of Track & Field / Cross Country

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Francis X. Rienzo Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Lee Reed announced on Wednesday that Director of Track & Field / Cross Country Julie Culley has resigned.  Culley had been at the helm of the program for the past four years, after serving in an assistant role with the program for two years prior.

During her tenure leading the teams, Culley boasted 50 All-America honors in more than 10 different events.  She has also coached the Hoyas to 36 BIG EAST Championships and four wins at the Penn Relays. Academically, the Hoyas have performed exceptionally in the classroom capturing seven total nods to the 2020 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team.

"I want to thank Julie for her dedication to our student-athletes' academic and competitive success over the past four years," said Reed. "Julie has done a tremendous job with our program, and we are grateful for dedication over the years. She has been an exemplary coach and we are sad to see her go. We wish her the very best as she embarks on the next chapter of her life."

The search for Culley's replacement will begin immediately. Georgetown thanks Culley for her contributions to the Hoya program and wishes her well in her new career.
