WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team won its first Patriot League game of the year on Saturday afternoon downing the Bucknell University Bison 29-21 in Lewisville, Pennsylvania. With the win, the Hoyas move to 2-4 on the season and 1-2 in league play, while the Bison fall to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the Patriot League.

- "I am extremely proud of our players and coaches," said Georgetown Head Coach Rob Sgarlata. "We talked all week about the importance of living in a one-play universe. All three phases stepped up in the fourth quarter to seal the win."
KEY STATS
- Pierce Holley finished 18-of-31, passing for 251 yards and one touchdown
- Herman Moultrie had 84 yards rushing and a 33-yard rush for a touchdown.
- Cameron Crayton led the passing attack with six receptions for 136 yards including a 70-yard touchdown reception.
- Jonothan Honore and Jovone Campbell both had interceptions at crucial points in the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Georgetown jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead in the first quarter after a 70-yard pass from Holley to Crayton for the first score of the game.
- The Bison tied that game up to seven points apiece at the end of the first quarter.
- The second quarter saw a touchdown by the Bison and two field goals by the Hoyas to put the score at 14-13 in favor of Bucknell at the half.
- The Bison scored the only touchdown in the third quarter which was met by another Georgetown field goal. Honore made a crucial interception for the Hoyas late in the third quarter to end an offensive drive.
- With five minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Hoyas took the lead off of an eight-yard run from Holley to give GU the lead at 22-21.
- Later in the quarter, Moultrie had a 33-yard touchdown to put the Hoyas up 29-21 with 2:55 left in the game.
- The next drive by Bucknell was ended by a game-sealing interception by Campbell making the final score 29-21 in favor of the Blue & Gray.
