NORFOLK, Va. – The Georgetown University field hockey team lost to No. 17 Old Dominion University 2-0 in Friday's BIG EAST competition. This snaps a three-game winning streak for the Hoyas who move to 6-6 (1-3 BIG EAST) on the season.
How it Happened
· Old Dominion (9-2, 3-1 BIG EAST) struck first late in the first quarter. Aubrey Mytych found the cage for the Monarchs off an assist by Illse Westera.
· The Hoyas held Old Dominion to three shots in the second quarter but couldn't mount an attack of their own. The game remained 1-0 heading into the half.
· Old Dominion scored again seven minutes into the third quarter to push ODU's lead to 2-0. Westera scored off an assist by Evelyn Murray.
· The Monarchs took eight shots in the final period, but the Hoyas were able to fend off all scoring opportunities. Old Dominion held onto its lead and won the game in regulation.
Of Note
· The Hoyas were outshot 22-3 by the Monarchs, and Georgetown only attempted three corners throughout the game.

Ciara Weets had six saves in the game.
