Georgetown Football falls to Fordham, 41-20

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team dropped its home finale, 41-20, to Fordham on Saturday afternoon at Cooper Field.

ON THE RECORD
  • "Senior day is always very special, especially this with our super seniors and our fourth-year guys." said head coach Rob Sgarlata. "Covid provided a lot of challenges and I'm extremely proud of leadership these 33 student-athletes have provided for the program. Today was not the result we wanted but if you watch the entire game, our team doesn't quit. They keep fighting all the way to the end and one of the most enjoyable things was to watch how they were cheering for their teammates that didn't get a lot of playing time over their four-year career when they got in towards the end of the game on that final touchdown drive. Extremely proud of our entire program. We're trying to get better one percent every day. We'll come back to work tomorrow and learn from this game against a very good Fordham game as prepare to get into the final Patriot League game against Lehigh. "
