WASHINGTON – Georgetown football graduate student
Ahmad Wilson became a Second Team Academic All-American, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Wednesday.
Wilson is one of 53 student-athletes in total and one of eight defensive backs selected from around the country to receive Academic All-America honors.

- Wilson is the first Academic All-American since Jim Gallagher in 1999, who also received a spot on the second team.
- Wilson's selection is also the first of its kind under Head Coach Rob Sgarlata.
- The defensive back earned spots on the Academic All-Patriot League and CoSIDA All-District Team in 2018, 2019 and 2021.
- After finishing up his undergraduate degree in finance, operations & information technology in the McDonough School of Business, Wilson continued his studies and is working toward a master's degree in business analytics. He currently holds a 3.89 GPA in his tenure with Georgetown.
- The Hoya graduate student is a founding member of the Black Student-Athlete Coalition at Georgetown.
- Wilson racked up 71 tackles, 42 of which were on his own, in the 2021 campaign.
- He also registered two tackles for loss, an interception, a pair of breakups and hit the quarterback on two occasions.
