WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team lost the series finale at Seton Hall, falling 2-0 on Sunday afternoon in a BIG EAST Conference matchup. With the loss, GU slips to 4-13 on the season and 4-10 in conference play, while the Pirates move to 19-15 overall and 12-3 in league action.
HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
- Nolan McCarthy pitched 6.1 innings, allowing just two runs while striking out five.
- Everett Catlett fired 1.2 innings of scoreless relief with one strikeout.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hoyas had runners on base in three of the first four innings, but could not convert it into any runs.
- Seton Hall broke the scoreless deadlock in the bottom of the fourth, stringing together a double and single to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Pirates tacked on an insurance run in the seventh to provide the final 2-0 score.
