Hoyas Welcome Seton Hall on Tuesday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team (6-12, 0-7 BIG EAST) will welcome the Seton Hall University Pirates (10-10, 3-6 BIG EAST) on Tuesday, February 1. Tipoff at Capital One Arena is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

ABOUT THE HOYAS

Aminu Mohammed led a pair of Hoyas in double figures with 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting against Butler on Saturday. The freshman also recorded a squad-best six rebounds and a pair of steals. Donald Carey added 12 points and five boards while Dante Harris chipped in a game-high five assists to go along with seven points and matched a team-best six rebounds.
The Hoyas scored 32 of their 53 points in the paint while recording more helpers (11-8) than the Bulldogs.
Georgetown outscored Butler, 27-24, in the second half.
The Blue & Gray has four players averaging double figures in Mohammed (13.8 ppg), Carey (13.0 ppg), Kaiden Rice (12.5 ppg) and Dante Harris (12.2 ppg).
As a team, GU paces the BE shooting 37.8 percent from distance while its 8.2 triples/game rank third.
Mohammed has recorded six double-doubles (T1st - BE, 5th - NCAA freshman) and is averaging 8.0 rpg (10th - NCAA freshmen).
Rice is averaging 3.7 treys/game to lead the BE (7th - NCAA).
Carey is 35-for-38 from the charity stripe (92.1 %, 1st - BE).
In BE play, Carey is averaging 13.5 ppg, followed by Mohammed (12.6 ppg), Holloway (11.4 ppg), and Harris (11.2 ppg).

ABOUT THE PIRATES

Seton Hall enters Tuesday's game having dropped four of its last five contests, including losses to St. John's and Marquette at home last week.
The Pirates have a pair of top-10 BE scorers in Jared Rhoden (15.6 ppg, 6th) and Bryce Aiken (14.5 ppg, 10th) as well as the conference's leading blocker in Ike Obiagu (3.5 bpg, 5th - NCAA).
As a team, SHU leads the league in free throws made and attempted, going 329-of-429 for a BE second-best 76.7 percent.

ABOUT THE MATCHUP

Tuesday will be the 114th all-time meeting between Georgetown and Seton Hall with the GU holding a 61-52 overall edge.
The Hoyas knocked off Seton Hall in two of three matchups last season, downing the Pirates (81-75) in the regular season before knocking off SHU (66-58) on their way to its league-leading eighth BIG EAST Tournament crown.
In three games against the Pirates, Harris averaged 12.0 ppg to go along with 5.0 rpg and 4.0 apg. The Hoya guard also logged a career-high eight assists with 14 points and seven rebounds in the final regular season meeting (02/20/21). In the semifinals of the BIG EAST Tournament, Jamorko Pickett led the way with 19 points, followed by Harris with 15.
Head Coach Patrick Ewing holds a 4-6 record against Seton Hall while boasting a perfect 8-0 record as a player.
