Georgetown Falls to No. 2 Maryland

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown field hockey team fell 11-0 to the No. 12 Maryland Terrapins on Tuesday evening in College Park, Maryland. With the loss, the Hoyas fall to a record of 3-11, while the Terps advance to 13-1 for the season.
 
How it Happened
  • The Terrapins opened up the scoring with four goals in the first quarter.
  • Maryland got on the board first in the second quarter scoring four minutes in when Belle Bressler found the back of the cage. The Terps added one more tally in the second to take a 6-0 lead into halftime.
  • In the second half, the Terps put up three goals in the third and two in the fourth before knocking off the Hoyas 11-0
Of Note
  • Ciara Weets made 11 saves in the match for the Hoyas. 
Up next
The Hoyas will play again on Friday, October 14 when they travels to Hamden, Connecticut to take on Quinnipiac. Gametime is set for 3 p.m.
