Hoyas Fall to Quinnipiac

Box Score WASHINGTON – The Georgetown field hockey team fell 3-1 to the Quinnipiac Bobcats on Friday afternoon in Hamden, Connecticut. With the loss, the Hoyas fall to a record of 3-12, while the Bobcats advance to 5-9 for the season.
 
How it Happened
  • The Bobcats opened up scoring in the first quarter when Lucia Pompeo scored on a penalty stroke.
  • The Hoyas evened things up when Lily Jamison found the back of the cage six minutes into the second quarter. Emma Van Der Veen and Vivienne Trumpbour recorded the assists on the goal.
  • The score would hold at 1-1 until halftime.
  • Emilia Massarelli opened the scoring for the Bobcats in the third quarter on an unassisted effort.
  • The Bobcats added one more tally in the fourth quarter to down the Hoyas 3-1.
 
Of Note
  • Ciara Weets made eight saves in the match for the Hoyas. 
  • Lily Jamison scored the lone goal for the Hoyas with the assists from Trumpbour and Van Der Veen.
 
Up next
The Hoyas will play again on Friday, October 21 when they host UConn at Cooper Field. Gametime is set for noon.
