WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team returns to the friendly confines of McDonough Arena to open a four-match BIG EAST homestand with a pair of matches this weekend. The Hoyas welcome Xavier to the Hilltop on Friday before taking on No. 18 Creighton on Saturday.

About the Hoyas
- Georgetown (4-15, 2-5 BIG EAST) is coming off a pair of road losses in league play. The Hoyas dropped a five-set thriller at Providence before losing 3-0 at UConn.
- Mary Grace Goyena leads the Hoyas with 3.17 kills per set while Ruth Kayongo and Giselle Williams add 2.26 and 2.12 kps, respectively.
- Emma Plutnicki has gotten the nod as the primary setter in the last six matches and averages 7.27 assists per set.
- Defensively, four Hoyas average at least two digs a frame led by Karis Park with 4.20 digs per set. Jessica Cusi and Plutnicki both add 2.27 dps while Goyena are good for 2.08 dps.
- At the net, Chanelle Smith averages 1.06 blocks per set while Brennan Wilhite adds 0.89 bps.
Scouting Xavier
- Friday's action against the Musketeers is set for 5 p.m.
- Xavier is 11-7 on the season, 4-4 in BIG EAST play, and is coming off of a weekend split with a 3-1 win against DePaul and a 3-0 loss to then-No. 16 Marquette.
- Brooklyn Cink leads the Musketeers with 3.40 kills per set while Delaney Hogan and Anna Taylor add 2.75 and 2.36 kps, respectively.
- Carrigan O'Reilly paces the offense with 8.17 aps.
- Defensively, Lucia Corsaro anchors the back row with 4.42 digs per set. Hogan is the top threat at the net with 0.72 bps.
- Friday will be a rematch of an earlier season 3-0 victory by Xavier in Cincinnati. Goyena led the Hoyas with 12 kills in the loss while Cink and MaryAnn O'Toole both had 11 kills in the win.
Scouting Creighton
- Saturday's match with the Bluejays is set for 5 p.m.
- Creighton is 16-3 on the season and undefeated at 8-0 in BIG EAST play. The Bluejays play at Villanova on Friday night before coming to the Nation's Capital.
- Norah Sis leads Creighton with 3.96 kills per set while Keeley Davis (2.58 kps), Kiana Schmitt (2.16 kps) and Ava Martin (2.29 kps) all average at least two kills a frame.
- Kendra Wait paces the offense with 10.89 assists a frame.
- Defensively, Allison Whitten (3.97 dps), Wait (3.38 dps) and Davis (3.12 dps) all haul in at least three digs a set while Kiara Reinhardt and Schmitt's 0.91 and 0.88 bps, respectively, are tops at the net.
- Georgetown and Creighton squared off earlier this season in Omaha with the Bluejays winning 3-0. Goyena had seven kills to place the Blue & Gray while Sis posted 11 kills in the win for CU.
