WASHINGTON – The Georgetown field hockey team fell 3-0 to the UConn Huskies on Friday afternoon in Washington, D.C. With the setback, the Hoyas hold a record of 3-13, while the Huskies advance to 11-4 for the season.
How it Happened
- The Huskies opened up the scoring four minutes into the game when Madi Herb scored on an unassisted effort.
- UConn would add one more in the first quarter to make the score 2-0.
- Herb tallied her second of the game five minutes into the second quarter and the score would hold at 3-0 going into halftime.
- The third quarter was scoreless as Ciara Weets was spectacular for the Blue & Gray in the cage making four saves.
- In the fourth quarter UConn had the majority of chances putting up five shots to the Hoyas one.
- The Hoyas were unable to generate much offense and fell to the No. 11 Huskies 3-0.
